Corporate tax is 9% on taxable profit above AED 375,000. Profit up to AED 375,000 is taxed at 0%, which is favourable for small and medium businesses.
VAT registration is mandatory if your taxable turnover exceeds AED 375,000 over any 12-month period, and voluntary above AED 187,500. The standard VAT rate is 5%.
It is based on your basic salary: 21 days' pay per year for the first five years and 30 days' pay per year after that, capped at two years' total salary. You need at least one year of continuous service.
